Product Application Engineer
Hyde Park Electronics LLC, the world leader in Ultrasonic Sensing Technology, has an immediate opening for a Product Application Engineer to cover the Southeastern United States. This individual will be responsible for generating sales and providing technical support to Schneider Electric North America Business Development Specialists, customers and distributors/reps in assigned area.
The preferred candidate will have five years experience in technical outside sales and knowledge of electronic products. The candidate should be knowledgeable in selling using features and benefits as well as solution selling. High energy, strong communication, facilitation, time management and organizational skills needed. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent suggested in Business or Electrical Engineering. Travel is required. This position reports to the VP of Sales and Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Visit customers and distributor locations
- Use ACT / Salesforce.com! as a customer database
- Assist marketing to support selling system, information on product development needs, and related activities
- Conduct technical training, product presentations, and provide technical assistance as necessary
- Educate customers/distributors on pricing and application advantages and how they meet customers’ needs
- Assist in trade shows by traveling to the location, being available for booth time and follow-up after the trade show
- Provide the VP of Sales & Marketing with information regarding distributors, and assist the VP of Sales & Marketing in establishing, training and supporting the distributors

Part-Time New Product Development Technician
The Schneider Electric Sensor Competency Center is pleased to announce an opportunity for a part-time New Product Development Technician in Engineering. This newly created position’s primary responsibility involves supporting our Design Engineers with new product development activities.
Requirements for this position include prior experience as an Electronic Technician or Assembler Level II, or higher. Candidate must have good attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, neatness and speed; be a self-starter and able to manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities.
Skills
Ideal candidate will have, or be willing to gain, proficiency in the following Windows applications: Word, Excel, Windows Explorer, Outlook and the Internet.
Ability to operate a variety of electrical and mechanical test instrumentation for design validation is necessary. This includes proficiency in operating an oscilloscope, function generator and various power supplies. The candidate will be required to safely operate both hand and power tools for such purposes as light metal and wood cutting, sanding and shaping.
Candidate will be responsible for learning and mastering circuit capture with a major software application; have a basic knowledge of electrical components and circuit voltage/current relationships; ability to solder a variety of circuits, and components, including fine-pitch surface mount.
Tasks
- Schematic capture
- Circuit prototyping
- Testing the build and construction of circuit designs
- Test and evaluate customer returns and manufactured products
- Prototype assembly and new product process development
- Conduct product qualification tests; collect and record detailed data
- Provide Manufacturing Engineering support with process development and trouble shooting, as needed
- Backup to Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout
- Maintain engineering stockroom and lab supplies
